Youssef, being a “global citizen”, gathered around him a legion of admirers, men and women separated by countries borders yet united by a shared cause. Thus, they expressed profound sorrow at the loss of a pioneering figure in the field of early childhood.

We dedicate this space to extending our heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered condolences to Youssef’s family and the family of the Arab Resource Collective (ARC) and the Arab Network for Early Childhood Development (ANECD), whether through a kind word or a longer message of condolences. As we envisioned this special edition through its details as a living tribute to a man who remains alive despite his physical absence, we list here the names of those who offered condolences to the extent that ARC was able to compile. Here, we add our thanks and advance apologies to anyone who offered condolences but whose name does not appear on this “list of admirers”.
