Caroline Arnold/ Geneva – Switzerland: Education Director, Aga Khan Foundation

9 October 2026

Youssef was quite simply one of the finest human beings I have ever known and had the pleasure to work with.

At our CG meetings he would always bring such a wonderful mixture of a deep and fierce commitment to the rights of young children, incisive insight, and the ability to truly place the young child within the larger context, gentle humour, patience, inclusiveness and wonderful poetry.

What a fine legacy he leaves for humanity and many joyful memories.

Rest in Peace dear Youssef.
