The Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) in Egypt and the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation signed a cooperation protocol aimed at coordination and partnership to achieve shared objectives—particularly in the field of child empowerment—on 13 November 2025.

The protocol was signed by the Secretary-General of ACCD, Dr. Hassan Al-Bilawi, and the Director General of the Sharjah Foundation, Dr. Mona bin Huda Al-Suwaidi, in the presence of representatives from both parties.

In his remarks, Al-Bilawi explained that the cooperation builds on “the Council’s model Tarbiat Al-Amal (Education of Hope), which is based on an integrated rights-based approach, an approach grounded in participation and capacity-building, and an approach focused on self-development”. He noted that “the cooperation also falls within ACCD’s efforts to expand its regional and international partnerships, and to exchange expertise and knowledge with leading Arab institutions working in the fields of childhood and development, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable developmental impact in children’s lives and serving them at all levels”.

For her part, Al-Suwaidi emphasized that “the protocol represents an important step toward strengthening joint work with ACCD,” affirming that it is “the beginning of a long path of collaboration to achieve sustainable impact in the lives of our children who have lost parental care, to build a more empowering future for them, and to create a more inclusive and sustainable environment that supports their empowerment”.

The protocol includes several areas of joint cooperation related to supporting and empowering children, through conducting training programs and workshops, organizing meetings and conferences for advocacy and awareness-raising, and exchanging knowledge, expertise, and work methodologies.

A work plan to activate the protocol is scheduled to be developed starting in 2026. The plan will focus on implementing training programs centered on child empowerment using the educational model previously applied by ACCD in child-rearing institutions across several Arab countries—namely Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Oman.
