Arab Country Profiles

On 22 September 2019, Countdown to 2030 women’s, children’s and adolescent health, launched updated ECD profiles of 138 low and middle-income countries at the United Nations General Assembly. The profiles are an attempt to compile, in one place, the available data for country and cross-country monitoring and to provide a baseline against which progress can be monitored.
Before the Corona Pandemic, ANECD has worked on translating the updated ECD profiles of the fourteen Arab countries, Algeria, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen. The profiles show data on key indicators of early childhood development specifically, on the five components of the nurturing care framework which are: health, nutrition, early learning, responsive caregiving, and security and safety, nested within an enabling policy framework to support families and caregivers.

ANECD translated into Arabic the Brochure that summarizes the project and the important data beside a table showing the used indicators, the rationale behind including them, their definition and the data source.
