8 July 2026
The Training of Trainers (TOT) program specialized in early detection, early intervention, and the utilization of assistive technology for children with disabilities has launched in Cairo, Egypt. The program is organized by the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD) in cooperation with the Arab Scout Organization, supported by the Islamic Development Bank, and in partnership with the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND).
Experts in disability fields are participating in delivering the training program, which targets specialists from five Arab countries: Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Egypt, and Yemen. The program includes six training workshops held as two parallel tracks over three weeks, running from July 5 to 21, 2026. The tracks cover targeted disability categories including hearing, visual, and motor disabilities, specific learning disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities.
The program aims to enable TOT cadres to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies in early detection and intervention for the targeted disabilities, while equipping them with practical experience in employing assistive technology and modern assessment tools. It comes as part of the project “Developing the Capacity for Early Detection and Intervention among Stakeholders of Children with Disabilities in Light of Scientific Advancement and Technological Development, implemented by the ACCD with support from the Islamic Development Bank and in partnership with AGFUND.
