When we would meet him for a “relaxed gathering” following a long day of remarkable, dedicated work during which Youssef would consistently dazzle us with profound, inspiring human insights and his simple yet evocative ideas and questions, we would find ourselves taking significant strides toward the depth of humanitarian work. At these serene gatherings, he would always welcome us by singing “Masr Yamma Ya Bahiyya” with a gentle unforgettable voice and performance.
