Report on the Occasion of Five Years of the "Early Childhood Development Care Framework"

On the occasion of the five-year anniversary of the release of the report and framework titled “Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development: a framework for helping children survive and thrive to transform health and human potential”, the World Health Organization and UNICEF have issued a progress report. In this report, they highlight the key areas that have seen achievements and developments during the period between 2018 and 2023, as well as areas that require more attention in the future.

Among the achievements mentioned in the report is a 48% increase in the number of low- and middle-income countries with a national policy or action plan on Early Childhood Development. Additionally, meetings were held with around one thousand stakeholders to facilitate the understanding of the framework and agree on necessary measures to enhance early childhood care in various contexts.

The report also highlights the role of our very own “Arab Network for Early Childhood” within the context of early childhood development care. The network participated in organizing five workshops aimed at enhancing care for children living in difficult humanitarian conditions, along with other important activities related to this issue.
